Yearbook Reflection

1. What i like most of all about my designs would have to be the originality of my work. I haven't seen designs like this before, iv'e only gotten ideas from multiple arts so basically it is all from my head. I love this because it is easier to be proud of my work knowing it is more original then coped. Overall I think that the creativity I put into my deigns are very good and love the Randomness that is involved in each of them.

2. To improve my designs i would probably put a lot more time in them fixing any mistakes i might have made and missed when checking over them. I don't like the way that i set up my photography page, i feel like I could have made it more interesting and eye appealing. I could have done this by putting in a couple more pictures and adding more colour to the edges of the page. Other then that it was quite alright and the other pages I probably wouldn't change.

3. My designs could well be used for the actual yearbook because they are very artistic and very interesting to look at. I think that they would look professional and be well worth the money to buy. The theme of fantasy works well for the yearbook because it is something everyone can enjoy and relate towards. I have also asked people if they liked my design and they had agreed that they would want it as a yearbook cover. If they were to use my designs I think people would like them and find them just as appealing as I do.

Year Book Design Ideas

I have many thoughts about what I could do for my year book cover theme. One of my ideas would be to have a simple yet elegant cover involving some simple concept of era being born. I could also perhaps do a underwater theme involving the treasure of learning. My third idea would be to create a somewhat space universe look mixed with technology. I may also do an eerie theme with some suspense.

Barbara Kruger

A. In this piece of art I see the rules, the government that teaches us, the way they think that children’s minds are inferior to that of the adults in the idea we have no say. The truth comes out in the photo stating that we may speak our minds but the roles in command will do nothing but laugh at the thought.

B. The message I tried to portray in this picture is that the children being taught do not get a say. It is true they are not as smart but that does not mean they can be ignored completely. This accounts for any age of student, anywhere.

C. I dislike this piece of art because I feel that the art part is hard to see. We should have taken the pictures our selves and then added the words. Also I think the words should have just come from the mind, instead of off a website masking some creativity. I know I could have come up with a better fraise if I just came up with it in my head.

Barbara Kruger Assignment

A) In this photo I see a pair of leather dress shoes, very snazzy and look as if owned by a wealthy man perhaps a lawyer or government official or maybe even a man with class and style. They are a pair with out feet in them and they rest on a shaggy like carpet of some sort.

B) The message being said in this picture to me would be about materialism and how possessions are more important to people than other things. We live in a consumer driven society where the things we buy get old in a few days. The words in the photo are a statement that despite the obsession with possessions these things become both worthless and pointless after death and in the grave.

C) I do enjoy some of Barbara Kruger’s to an extent. I do not like the way she puts her words together by looking through articles. I feel that it is more creative and significant when the statement is completely made up from your own mind. Some of her photo’s do not interest me along with her writing, despite this there are a few I do enjoy, so over all id say that she was not my favourite but not the worst.

Scuba Serlon

1. What I like best?
The thing I like best about my game is the theme I used as there were many ways to make my level my own: octpi attack, eels can can swim out of caves, befriend sharks. I stuck to a more Finding Nemo/ biolumenescent coral reef theme simply because I wanted mine to be a colourful contrast to the barren moon surface in the original lander game.

2. What could be improverd?
I would have made it have a little more action, if I had more time I'd insert a shark that goes across the screen and you'd have to avoid it otherwise you would die. I'd also put in an eel that pops out of a whole right beside the landing pad.

3. How is this game an improvement upon the original?
This game is both more interesting and challenging then the original "Moon Lander". There are more objects to avoid and the mission is more interesting because you have to retreve treasure.

Moonlander Idea

I had many idea's for the remaking of the moonlander game. The one I chose to use would be my scuba diving expedition idea. The idea was to create a scuba diver and have him "look for treasure" under the sea. when the diver spotted the sunken treasure, he would proceed to slowly lower himself beside it being sure not to descend at too fast of a rate to avoid decompression sickness otherwise known as the bends. If you reach the treasure at an easy pase then you land beside it and move onto the next level.
